Sophos Email Filter - Sender Whitelist/Blacklist

Every user has the ability to manage there own sender whitelists and blacklists. To manage these lists:

Step 1:

  • Open your web browser and navigate to https://portal.vicbar.com.au/ 
  • Your username is the first part of your Vicbar address. For example, if your email address is
    jsmith@vicbar.com.au, then your username is jsmith
  • Your password is your Vicbar email password.

Step 2:

  • You will now be logged in and presented with the welcome screen, click on either 'Sender Whitelist' or 'Sender Blacklist'

 

Sender Whitelist:

  • This is a list of your trusted senders, emails from these senders will be delivered to your account even if they are suspected to be spam. Note: if a virus/malware is detected the whitelist will be ignored and the email rejected.
  • To add a new address to the whitelist click on the '+' icon.
  • Type in the email address.
  • Press the green tick to save the address.
  • Wildcards: you are able to use wildcards (asterisk symbol) to whitelist an entire domain. For instance user@example.com will whitelist that single address whereas *@example.com will whitelist all senders from the domain @example.com.

 

Sender Blacklist:

  • This is a list of untrusted senders, emails from these addresses will be rejected and not appear in your inbox.
  • To blacklist a sender, click on the '+' icon.
  • Type in the email address.
  • Press the green tick to save the address.
  • Wildcards: you re able to use wildcards (asterisk symbol) to blacklist an entire domain. For instance user@example.com will blacklist that single address whereas *@example.com will blacklist all senders from the domain @example.com.
